Five Minute Friday: Messenger

Are you a messenger? Whether you like it or not, you are.  We ALL are.  We each carry a message of hope or hatred.  There is not much in between, in my opinion. Even being quiet sends a message of apathy, you know?

Messengers of hope seek out the best of every day, of every situation, of every person.  Despite dealing with some grungy, deplorable junk on a daily basis, they keep their eyes on Jesus and find a reason to smile; they find a reason to keep putting one foot in front of the other. It is liberating to receive their message.

Messengers of hate sadly seek out the worst of times, offer the most antagonistic of perspectives, smear their drama all over social media, and bring those around them down as often as possible.  It is exhausting to even be near the message they bring.

Personally, I want to be known as a messenger of hope; a flag bearer of healing; a harbinger of happiness. I want to fight back the darkness with the Light that lives inside of me.

Come go with me!

  2. I honestly don't understand the hate mongers. I just don't. And I guess that's good. Why not give hope not hate? But then perhaps first they have to give hope to themselves by forgiving and loving themselves. And that can seem like an insurmountable mt. to some. Here's to hope for ourselves and others! Great post! :>)

  3. "A messenger of hope; a flag bearer of healing; a harbinger of happiness." I love this. I too, want to me known as these things. And we will be known for one side or the other. Thank you for sharing this great reminder.
